Import notes into Zoho CRM from your spreadsheet
Call notes, remarks, what was said on the phone: a spreadsheet keeps them in a column, and in the CRM they belong on the record as notes, not squeezed into a field. Sloose now imports that column as a note on each record, from the same spreadsheet as the records.
How to import notes into Zoho CRM from the same spreadsheet
Every module that takes notes now has two extra rows on Map fields, Note title and Note content. Map your Comments column to Note content, and each deal gets its comment as a note, added once the deal is saved. A row with nothing in the column adds no note.
Here is a file of five deals, each with a few words from the last call (the file, to try). The comment on Priya's workshop fit-out becomes a note on that deal, and the comment on the warehouse roof array a note on that one.
How this compares with Zoho's Import Notes
Zoho CRM's own notes import is a separate step: Zoho's help sends you to Setup, Data Administration, Migrate Data from other CRM and Import Notes, with a CSV file of its own, after the records the notes belong to are in. In Sloose a note is a column of the same file, added to the record that row makes or updates. The full comparison with Zoho CRM's import is on its own page.
Checked first, like the rest of an import
Notes go through the same Validate and dry run as everything else: Sloose tells you what is off before it writes, such as a note with no content, and a dry run shows what each row would do. Nothing reaches your CRM until you press Import.
Sloose also imports subform data, such as the line items of a deal, in the same import. The example file is on the examples page with the others: made-up companies, so there is nothing to protect.
Questions people ask
Can I import notes into Zoho CRM from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Zoho's own route is a separate notes import, under Setup, Data Administration, Migrate Data from other CRM, with its own CSV file (Zoho's help). In Sloose a column of the spreadsheet you are already importing is mapped to Note content, and each record the import makes or updates gets its note. Sloose reads Excel workbooks as well as CSV.
Can one file do a Zoho CRM import with notes?
Yes: the notes are a column of the file that makes the records. Map the column to Note content, run Validate and a dry run, and the notes are added after each record is saved.
Where can I try it?
Start a free trial and use the example file on the examples page: made-up companies, so there is nothing to protect. The docs have notes in full.
